Here's what makes the Ravelco work:

The Ravelco Anti-theft Device is installed flush mounted or in an easily accessible place under the dashboard. A 16-pin removeable male plug makes all the electronic connections. Whenever you leave your vehicle, you remove the coded Ravelco plug and connect it to your key chain. With the plug removed from the Ravelco base, it is impossible to start the vehicle with or without the vehicle key. It is like removing part of your vehicle's critical eletrical circuits and taking them with you.

Each Ravelco plug is unique and individually numbered. There are no "Master" plugs and with more than 100,000 different combinations you are assured that your Ravelco plug is unique and that no one else can start your vehicle simply by gaining access to another Ravelco plug.

From the rear of the Ravelco base unit a hidden armored steel cable protects the wires  from the base on through to the engine compartment of the vehicle. All electrical connections are made into the factory wiring harness in the engine compartment. With no exposed wires, a properly installed Ravelco is virtually impossible to detect and extremely time consuming to trace since all the wires are the same color (black).
